Dr. Damon Cecil

Veterinarian

Dr. Cecil grew up in Philpot, KY., attended Owensboro Catholic High School, Murray State University, and Auburn University. Prior to graduation, he completed internships in swine production and medicine in North , South Carolina and Indiana, as well as completing an equine an internship in Texas. Upon graduation in June 2000, he spent the first two years practicing as a large animal ambulatory veterinarian. For the next three years he practiced mixed animal medicine before settling down at Towne Square Animal Hospital in 2004.

Father of three children, he and his family enjoy camping, trail riding and anything outdoors. In addition to the three children, he and his wife, Jennifer, have three dogs, four cats and five horses. When he has spare time, Dr. Cecil still enjoys helping out and working on his mother’s cattle farm.

Dr. Summer Buckner

Veterinarian

Dr. Summer Buckner became employed at Towne Square Animal Hospital in 2014. She has practiced veterinary medicine in the Owensboro area since 2003. Originally from Texas, Dr. Buckner is a 2001 graduate of Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine. She enjoys developing relationships with clients, observing the bond between humans and animals, and client education.

Dr. Buckner is married and has a son. She has a dog, a cat, horses, and cattle. In her free time, she enjoys: spending time with family, riding horses, traveling, and reading.

Dr. Nikki Curtis

Veterinarian

Dr. Curtis is a 1997 graduate of Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. She is an Owensboro native and completed her undergraduate degree at Auburn University. While enjoying the wide variety of challenges that veterinary medicine brings, she has a special interest in internal medicine, sporting/working breeds and retired Greyhounds.

She and her husband share their love of the outdoors with their two children while hunting and competing in 3D archery tournaments.

Dr. Nathan Kunze

Veterinarian

Dr. Kunze grew up in Utica, KY. After graduating from Apollo High School in 2000, he received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky in 2005. He attended veterinary school at Auburn University, graduating in 2009. After graduation Dr. Kunze returned to Owensboro to work at Audubon Animal Hospital. He became a partner in the Towne Square & Audubon Animal Hospital group in 2013. In addition to general medicine, Dr Kunze’s interests include ultrasonography and exotic species. Dr. Kunze has also assisted the Western Kentucky Raptor Center in rehabilitating injured birds of prey since 2009 and has served on its board of directors since 2010. He has appeared on the National Geographic Wild television show “Bandit Patrol,” focusing on wildlife rehabilitation.

He and his wife, Lyndsey, married in 2005 and have three children, Graham, Sara Jane, and Elizabeth. Also part of the family are two cats, Lexi and Lily. His family attends Zion United Church of Christ. Dr. Kunze’s hobbies including cycling, camping, kayaking, & triathlon. He also enjoys reading, cooking, cultivating fruit trees, raising chickens, and assisting with his parents’ vineyard in Utica.
